- About My Work
-
I am a warm, compassionate nurse psychotherapist, who wants to help you feel better about yourself, your life, and your relationships.
If you are pregnant or a new mother, and you feel depressed, anxious, or just not like your "usual self,” then I may be the therapist for you. I've been helping women like you for many years.
I am very sensitive to the special concerns of women; depression, anxiety, caretaking, body image, life transitions, parenting, relationships, work life balance, and disordered eating.
I live and work on a sailboat and have experience as a world traveler. I can help with your present stresses and the "baggage you brought with you from home."
I use an eclectic approach that includes several evidence based therapies, that will help empower you to help yourself.
I work out of my virtual office (only) and offer online, video, and email counseling. My office hours are very flexible and I work with clients during the day, evenings, and weekends.
I DO NOT PRESCRIBE MEDICATIONS OR OFFER EMERGENCY OR CRISIS SERVICES.
- My Story
-
I have been a nurse for more than 40 years and am a board certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist (adult) in private practice in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I have an RN Nurse Extended Compact License, which lawfully permits me to work remotely with clients from 36 states. I am licensed as an APRN CNS in PA, MD, MT, IA, ID, and FL.
I offer individual and couple short and long term psychotherapy. I specialize in women's mental health issues and am an expert in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I also work with (verbal) children, aged 3 and up, as well as adolescents.
My other clinical interests are: nurses' mental health and the use of the Internet to provide quality counseling services.
