Acadiana Addiction Center is located in the heart of Acadiana-Lafayette, Louisiana. The campus is a 33 bed residential facility which provides chemical dependency treatment to adults 18 years and older.
The Belle of the Oaks is an 8 bed, women's extended care facility, located along the serene Vermilion River. This beautiful log-cabin style home ensures safety and privacy, specializing in continued gender specific addiction treatment.
We offer a full spectrum of care for addiction treatment. This is part of our commitment to creating a long-term foundation for recovery with the men and women who stay with us.
We offer detoxification services for those in the grips of their abuse as our highest level of care. Our main treatment programs are at the residential level, which give you time to learn recovery skills in a safe and serene setting and explore the roots of your addiction.
We offer a number of different treatment programs here at Acadiana so we can ensure that patients can get the treatment level that is most appropriate for them. We offer the following programs:
Detoxification
For those men and women that come to Acadiana physically dependent on drugs or alcohol they will be sent to our detoxification program before they can begin any other treatment. You will be monitored around the clock throughout the whole detox process as we safely and effectively remove all toxins from your body. We know that the stabilization process can be uncomfortable and scary, which is why a staff member will be right there with you every step of the way. They will take the time to explain every part of the detox process and just provide you comforting support. Once you have been stabilized you will be ready for your next phase of treatment.
Residential treatment
Our residential program is a 30 to 90 day inpatient stay that is designed to help our patients become emotionally stable, understand more about the disease of addiction, learn effective coping skills, and adopt the principles of recovery. All patients in our residential program will be assigned an individual counselor that will help monitor your progress and help you meet all of your recovery goals.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Our intensive inpatient program is designed for those individuals who have reached a place in their recovery where they are ready to resume their regular lives and former responsibilities. Those who have reached this stage of recovery are confident in their abilities to identify stressors, triggers, and any problem situations that are associated with their substance abuse. Participants in this program must be able to fully participate in a 12 step recovery group with limited supervision and must be living in an environment that provides adequate support and stability. This program provides men and women with a minimum of 10 hours a week spread out over three evenings, including a combination of psycho-educational/skill build groups, process groups, individual therapy, and family therapy. Participation in a 12-step recovery group is also highly encouraged. Throughout this program your designated counselor will keep track of your progress and help you meet the goals and objectives you have set for yourself.
Female Extended Residential Treatment (off-site)
The Belle of the Oaks is an extended living care program that provides women with a safe, nurturing environment while they are eased back into society. This three month program is designed around a level system with each phase addressing and reinforcing specific skills needed for a successful recovery. Additionally, all women in this program will be involved in individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy that will further enhance life management skills. Throughout your stay in this program you will receive the support you need while gaining hope about a future substance free.
We also have an extended residential program for males. Both Extended Residential programs are 12-step focused with individual and group therapy and are aimed at providing long-term treatment in a 24-hour structured and supervised environment. The goal is to provide the client a sober environment, transitioning to a productive return to family, employment and the community.
In addition to traditional therapeutic methods, Acadiana provides several different experiential programs that help to heal you as a whole individual. Some of these programs may include:
We offer a Family Program which is designed to provide clients, family members and significant others a greater understanding of the Disease Concept of Addiction.
The professionals at Acadiana know that for an addict to have a successful rehabilitation, that treatment must also include support from family members who have also been affected by the addiction. All loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in the weekend family program and the three day family workshop. Through supportive guidance healing among the family can occur and relationships can grow to be healthy.
The three-day family workshop is designed to allow both patients and loved ones the opportunity to heal together. This program will help to educate everyone about addiction, open lines of communication, provide support, and help integrate the family into the recovery process. Since addiction is a family disease treatment for the entire family is a key component in a successful recovery.
In addition to the family programs, all of our clinicians provide our clients and families a range of services, including individual therapy, patient and family groups and weekly education and support groups. Continuing Care Programs are provided by our own dedicated and experienced clinicians to clients, their families, and loved ones after completion of treatment.
Highlights:
At Acadiana Addiction Center we want to make the referral process as painless as possible for all involved. The dedicated admission personnel is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for free, confidential assessments.
When you call our highly qualified admissions staff they will be able to answer any questions you may have about the intake process and will gather some personal information about you so that they are able to help you determine the most appropriate treatment option for your individualized needs. Additionally, they can help to verify your insurance benefits. Once it has been determined that out treatment program is a good fit for your mental health needs the treatment process can start immediately.
At Acadiana we believe that alcohol and drug abuse are primary, chronic and progressive disorders that affect the ability to effectively cope with life. As a result, addicts begin a progressive deterioration in all major areas of their life. The addictive signs show up physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. This also begins an intensive erosion of family values and relationships.
Through a multi-disciplinary approach and an active involvement of our patients' significant family members, the recovery process begins. This involvement includes active participation in weekly family care sessions and the three-day family workshop. Throughout the healing process, AAC also believes that early and continuing involvement with 12 step self-help groups is crucial in the ongoing recovery of alcoholics/addicts and their families.
All of our patients are treated with dignity as they heal their lives - mind, body, and soul.
