Bowling Green Brandywine is an inpatient treatment facility located in historic Chester County in southeastern part of the state at Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The location provides easy access and borders Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland. We are located 90 minutes from Washington DC and two hours from New York City. The facility is easily accessible from the PA Turnpike and Interstate One and Ninety-five.Treatment is provided in a serene setting with an attractive physical plant.
Family education occurs each Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The spouse or significant other is encouraged to attend the Family Program. Family Counseling is conducted each Sunday. Or, if the family's schedule does not permit Sunday participation, a conjoint session will be scheduled through the week based on the family's schedule.
A twelve step meeting is scheduled 7 days a week. Bowling Green provides accommodation for the recovering community to conduct a twelve step meeting at the facility.
The program is grounded in a Twelve Step model that promotes abstinence from all mood-altering chemicals. This includes alcohol, heroin, cocaine, and other illicit drugs as well as prescription drug abuse.
Bowling Green Brandywine is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, Office of Mental Health (OMH).
A full continuum of care for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse or substance abuse problems complicated by mental health problems. The design of this continuum incorporates level of care from outpatient through inpatient.
Detoxification from all drugs utilizing various pharmacological protocols, as well as a titrated buprenorphine or methadone detox for those patients addicted to opiates is provided under the direction of a Medical Director, two physicians, a physician assistant, and a staff psychiatrist. Twenty-four hour nursing coverage is provided.
Bowling Green Brandywine treats women who are pregnant as well as opiate addicted pregnant women who must be maintained on methadone throughout the pregnancy.
Short-term and long-term residential care, facilitated by addiction therapist and registered nurses is provided at Bowling Green. The course of treatment follows a structured, cognitive behavioral model and provides individual, group, and family therapy components. Length of stay is variable and dictated by the individually assessed needs of the client and referral source feedback.
Bowling Green Brandywine develops an aftercare plan to fit the needs and environmental design of the individual so that discharge does not indicate an end to the treatment, but a beginning of a life-time of recovery.
Admission to the program can be made 24-hours a day, seven day a week.
