Mockingbird Hill Recovery Center sits on 13 acres of beautiful woods and rolling hills in Anderson, Ind. The multilevel facility includes an onsite medical clinic, full kitchen supplying three meals a day, individual therapy offices, group meeting rooms, computer stations, laundry room, television rooms and more. It sits on the former site of Mockingbird Hill Park, a nationally famous outdoor concert venue from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The center is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated staff that includes licensed clinicians -- addictions therapists, nurses and physicians, and behavioral health therapists -- as well as support staff. Mockingbird Hill Recovery Center is a key piece of the "Whole Health Recovery Continuum," an innovative approach to treating substance use disorder (SUD) created by Aspire Indiana Health and Progress House, two nonprofits with more than a century of combined service to serving the most vulnerable Hoosiers. It has been called "a model for Indiana and the nation" by the White House drug czar's office.
Rather than scattering the pieces to the recovery puzzle and expecting people to find them, we gather everything needed for long-term sobriety and bring it straight to their doorstep while providing a safe, comfortable place to live. This includes onsite medical and behavioral healthcare, peer support, individual case management, licensed addictions therapists, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and more. We currently offer programs at the ASAM 3.5 and 3.1 levels.
Once they complete treatment, Mockingbird Hill residents have the option to continue their recovery journey at Progress House, Indiana's largest and oldest recovery residence, or Next Step transitional apartments -- all while continuing to have access to the same powerful continuum of care.
