Oasis Renewal Center Reviews

Review this Center

I'm not sure where to start with this but I have been an addict for 7 years and Oasis was the first rehab that I reached out to and I was very excited for the opportunity to seek help. Upon entering the Oasis center it was very confusing very unorganized and a few of the staff members were very strange in their ways to say the least. I was there for 2 weeks I feel I was a very positive person with a good outlook on my recovery. However some of the people that they were taking in we're not on the same level as the people that were there actually seeking help. I was threatened by one of the people there verbally which could have easily turned into physical luckily I had been in recovery long enough to check myself. I gave information out to my therapist on certain situations and those therapists told the other therapist of the people that I was speaking about and it somehow got back to them. Total lack of confidentiality and shortly after that two days to be exact I was seediagnosed with covid. It was very disturbing and very hard because I was doing so well then all of a sudden all things changed. My last 6 hours there was the worst 6 hours I could have ever imagined. I was treated like an outcast. The staff have wanted nothing to do with me. It took me over an hour and a half just use the phone to call my family. Before I left I wanted to make sure that I would be able to come back and complete my program because I was very excited to do so. I was told that they would reach out to me in about a week of quarantine to see how I was doing and at that point if I was released by a doctor I could possibly come back. However I quickly learned that Oasis center in my opinion when it came to my recovery was clearly about money which they've already received from my insurance company for 2 weeks was a total of $11,800. I could go on and on about things that went on there that were very unprofessional. As far as the food goes and the shelf and a staff in the lunchroom I'd give a four plus out of five. The cabins and rooms at oasis we're all dirty spiders bugs air conditioners didn't work the beds were not as comfortable as I'd wished. Upon entering Oasis I was told by a colleague that Oasis was considered quote unquote bougie. It actually felt more like I was in some type of love jail. Needless to say it's going on 6 weeks now and not one person from Oasis has contacted me to check on me to see how I was doing to talk to me about re-entering the program or any outpatient program. Almost like they got their money and that was the end. You would think that places like this would have more compassion and be less about the money and truly about the care and the recovery of their clients. However in my case I don't feel that was correct. In between classes on the weekends it was very boring with nothing to do but fishing if you like that and watching old DVDs. I feel very let down and disgusted with the care that I received from Oasis. It is my opinion that if you truly want help this may not be your best option. I would like to say that I have been clean ever since I left Oasis however upon going into Oasis I was very gung ho on my recovery and turning back is not an option for me. I'm just glad I'm strong enough to move forward but I would really hate to know someone wasn't as strong as me in that same situation because the outcome probably wouldn't be near as good. With that being said I'm determined to finish the program somewhere but it will not be Oasis. With that being said I wish the best for everyone there and I hope the best for their recovery
