Maryland suffers some of the highest rates of drug addiction and alcoholism in the nation. From the mean streets of Baltimore, and heroin and cocaine addiction, to small town meth, and everywhere in between alcoholism and marijuana addiction - families in Maryland suffer unduly. Fortunately, when Maryland residents decide to get help for their drug addiction or alcoholism, at the very least insurance companies in Maryland are mandated through parity legislation to provide the same funding for drug treatment as they would provide for physical heath treatment.
Even those people who lack good private health insurance can get help and at a price they can afford. They may not get silk sheets and a daily massage, but at one of the many charity or non profit rehabs offering free or very affordable care, they will get what they need to beat drug addiction or alcoholism.
In addition to charity free drug rehabs, the state also provides some subsidized funding for drug and alcohol treatment, and you may be eligible for this treatment, even if you do not qualify for Medicaid.
If you have a drug or alcohol problem, wherever in Maryland that you my live, you can get help, and you can get it at a price you can afford.
