We Care House in Las Vegas is a non-profit residential recovery home for women of all creeds, religions, and nationalities, established in 1961.
We Care’s rehabilitation program is 12 Step-based program where house members are taught to identify character defects, take responsibility for their actions, and learn how to 'live life on life's terms' - not their own. Sobriety requires a complete lifestyle change, not just stopping substance abuse, whether alcohol or other drugs. Through positive peer interaction, around the clock support, and a large network of fellow sober women who have gone through the program from its inception in 1961 to today, our house members are able to not only achieve long term sobriety, but become happy, healthy, and functional members of society.
I did not go through the program at We Care - However, I was a House Mom there for a while and have gone to many meetings and events.
The care and kindness shown to the women in the program is above and beyond what other places offer.
Privacy is secure for the ladies, doctor visits, legal issues, and mental health are all tended to. Regular 12-step meetings both at the house and in the area provide all the tools needed to live sober and drug-free.
The ladies finally learn to actually like themselves, which is a huge step toward recovery.
I am very grateful for We Care House and the We Care Foundation.
